Use the AI-generated "Claire" as your guide to Role-Play a practice interview.
The best way to improve your Discovery Interviewing skills is to practice. Use "Claire, the AI-Guide" as your coach when you Role-Play a Discovery Interviewer with a synthetic customer. You can do this safely from your computer and be prepared to probe with your real customer later. Let's walk through the steps.
Step 1: Navigate to a Sticky Note in 2.5
Open a note within a Discovery Interview, and select "Role-play Problem."
Step 2: Select the Key Parameters
You will see your AI guide, Claire. Select each of the four parameters as follows:
Our product/offering type: The product in question will ground your analysis in your particular solution.
Customer business type: Your customer business type provides critical context.
Customer job function: Your customer's role, identity, or persona. This is the role of the person you'd like to "interview" with AI.
Customer job-to-be-done: Your customer's goal, objective, or problem to be solved. This is the topic you'd like to query AI about. It's best when written as a job statement, meaning it should begin with a verb. It should ALWAYS begin with a VERB. Gerund versions of verbs should be fine as well.
Select "Next" to begin.
Step 3: Select a Customer Avatar
Select a Customer Avatar that for the live voice mode. Perhaps experiment with different voices to make the simulation seem more realistic.
*You can select whether or not to conduct your interview via chat or voice.
Step 4: Conduct the Interview
As you conduct the interview, you'll get counsel from Claire using AIM's WHAT, WHY, CLARIFY probing methodology.
To make the simulation more real, ask a variety of questions. Try new things. This can help you to build your confidence and skills as an interviewer.
Step 5: Read the Interview Summary
Claire will provide an interview summary and assessment of your performance. Take the feedback to heart and keep practicing!
