What browser settings can impact Blueprinter® software performance?

Group policies are commonly set by a company's IT department. These will impact Blueprinter software's performance - particularly when using offline.

It is common for companies to adjust default browser settings using Group Policies. This can restrict Blueprinter software's abilities if it is unable to store data in the browser's cache. As of May 1, 2021, the only two approved browsers are Chrome and MS Edge.

Chrome is preferred and will provide the best experience for many reasons. One of these reasons is that Chrome is not vulnerable to settings changes in the same way that Edge is.

However, to proceed with Edge. here are the required settings:

MS EDGE

Computer Configuration -> Administrative Template -> Windows Components -> Microsoft Edge

Allow clearing browsing data on exit:  This is not configured by default. DO NOT enable as this could cause data loss. Additionally, users will not be able to open the application offline.

May 1, 2021 Update

IE has previously been an approved browser. However, as of May 1, 2021, Internet Explorer is no longer a supported browser for Blueprinter software. This is because Microsoft has begun the process of phasing it out, with an end date in August 2021. For reference, here were the previous settings for IE:

MS INTERNET EXPLORER 11

Computer Configuration -> Administrative Template -> Windows Components -> Internet Explorer -> Internet Control Panel -> Advanced Page

Empty Temporary Internet Files folder when the browser is closed Disabled by default. If enabled any unsaved data might be lost. Users will not be able to open Blueprinter software in offline mode.

Computer Configuration -> Administrative Template -> Windows Components -> Internet Explorer -> Internet Control Panel -> General Page -> Browsing History
